Mr. Wayne Mealor, 74 of Madison, died May 13, 2018.  Mr. Mealor was a native of Morgan County, the son of the late, Joe and Dorothy Westmoreland Mealor.  He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation.  He was married to his wife of 54 years, Elaine McCord Mealor. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 15 from 6-8PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 11AM in the chapel.  Interment will follow at the Mealor Family Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your church youth program or to the Beacon Heights Baptist Church youth program.

I knew Wayne from high school-had not seen him since then. He was a sweet, quiet young man. So sorry to learn of his passing, and I wish peace and comfort for his family and friends. God bless.

Elaine and family, we have just learned of Wayne's passing. We are so sorry for your loss. Wayne was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

So sorry to hear about Wayne. We started with the DOT together in 1961. we worked together for about 9 years until I transferred to another department. Wayne was a good man.
