David Ernest Biggs

David Ernest Biggs, a caring husband and loving father, passed away on April 3, 2024 at the age of 67, surrounded by his family. He was a strong, yet tender hearted man who was devoted to his family.

Born to David Biggs and Francis Corley Biggs on July 7, 1956, in Augusta, Georgia, David's interest in aviation took flight during his teenage years when he earned his private pilot’s license. Following high school, he followed his passion, embarking on a 43-year career with Delta Air Lines. Along the way, he married the love of his life, Darlene Kalb. They celebrated 46 years together this past December.

David's loves were many and varied. He poured his heart into his career at Delta, retiring as an aviation technician. His faith in the Lord was shared with several congregations including First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. He loved music including Gospel and Bluegrass and loved to share that with others. His career afforded him the opportunity to explore new places and he shared those travel experiences with his family.

David is survived by his wife Darlene and their children Tamara Jarrett and Brian (husband); and Justin Biggs and Shana (wife). He leaves three grandchildren, Grayson, Zachary and Bridgette. He is also survived by his two siblings Norman Biggs and Cheryl Williams.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 8 from 1-2 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM in the chapel.
