Mr. Chet Brett 93 of Madison, died December 27, 2017.  He was born March 3, 1924 in Vevay, IN to Roy Lee Brett and Lucy Irwin Brett.  He was a WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.  He retired from the Schandig Corporation where he was a superintendant.  Mr. Brett was a member of Centennial Baptist Church.  He was an avid golfer and sports fan.  He enjoyed camping and loved his church.  Mr. Brett loved to help others, having served with Campers on Mission, disaster relief groups and helping build churches in Jamaica.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Taylor Brett and later by his second wife, Dot Treadwell Brett.  He leaves two daughters, Frances Moss & Gary and  Barbara Adcock & Floyd.  His grandchildren are Roy Moss(Laurel), Craig Moss(Amy), Rita Polk(Kyle), Mendy Moss, Brett Adcock(Dawn), Steve Adcock and Nicholas Adcock.  He also leaves a sister, Wilma Dickerson as well as ten great grandchildren.  Other survivors include Kay Taylor(Cliff), Dorothy June Franco and Penny Teresa Bignon(Robert).  The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 31, 2017 from 2-3PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 3PM.  Interment will follow at Faith Memorial Garden.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

I am sadened by the passing of Chet, a fine Christian and example. He was my Sunday School teacher when we first moved to Madison. I was happy that I could minister to him in his last years.
