Wendell Harrison Combs

Wendell Combs passed away on April 26, 2026. He was born in Athens, Tennessee, to William and Stella Mae Combs.

Wendell was married to his beloved wife, Sharon Mealor Combs. He spent his life working as a skilled carpenter, taking great pride in his craftsmanship and the work of his hands. In his free time, he found joy in woodworking, fishing, working on cars, and listening to country music.

He is survived by his children, Wendell Combs, Jr., and Daniel Combs and his wife, Trish; his grandchildren, Heaven Leigh Meeks, Wendy Lynn Combs, Angela Talbott, Alexis Swartz, and Chase Hayes; and his sister, Kay Fish.

In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by seven siblings.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 4, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of A. E. Carter Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a cancer foundation of your choice.
