Marvin “Wayne” Bishop
January 18, 1954 ~ July 9, 2024
Wayne was born in Bamburg, SC to Nora Lou Bishop and Randall Bishop. He is preceded in death by his parents Nora Lou and Randall, the light of his life, Terry Bishop and son, Jonathan Bishop.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle ( Ken) Walls and son, Jeremy ( Kimberly) Bishop.
He was the proud papa of 7 grandchildren, Jacob Walls, Chris Walls, Aleister Bishop, Ava Bishop ( Taylor Rhoads) , Liam Walls, Brenten Bishop and Adelie Bishop with 2 brand new great grandchildren Johnny Bishop and Bobby Bishop.
Wayne worked at Conyers Welding for more than 40 years where he crafted his skill for welding, problem solving and amazing ability to look at something and know the exact measurements. He was admired for his ability to build or fix anything, no blueprints needed. He was part of the foundation that kept the business going.
Wayne enjoyed golf and racing and shared it with his grandchildren where they will continue to remember him at every race or on the green. He was a quiet man but had been known to cut a rug on the dance floor a time or two. His favorite past time was riding the dirt roads with his best friend and brother, Larry. He had the best sarcastic sense of humor, and the most infectious giggle. He was the master of making breakfast, his gravy will be imitated but never replicated and was a favorite of the grandchildren.
He fought cancer with the courage and heart of a Lion. Well done, Dad, well done.
Services will be held Sunday, July 21 at 4pm at Covenant Park Church in Madison, Georgia.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7
