Tommy was born at home in Forsyth, Co, GA.  He enjoyed the love and support of many cousins, aunts and uncles throughout his life.  Many still refer to him as the Ambassador of the McGinnis family.  He attended Morgan County Schools.   Tommy was a beloved member of Pennington Methodist Church.  If you know any member of the Church, or the McGinnis family, you most certainly knew Tommy.

The interment will be immediate family only.   The only visitation will be online at A.E. Carter Funeral Home at www.aecarterfuneralhome.com.   A virtual visitation may be enjoyed through photos and memories online.

Many who traveled along 83 Highway in the 1970’s through the 1990’s, especially if they traveled to & from Georgia Football games or attended college or had business along the route there was a young man who walked daily and spoke to people.  This was Tommy McGinnis.  He was friends to many who never even knew his name.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Pennington Church Children’s Playground Fund.  Pennington Church, P.O. Box 141, Madison, GA 30650.  It would only be fitting the sound of children laughing and playing serve as an honor to someone that remained pure in spirit throughout his entire life.  A Dedication of the Playground and a Celebration of Tommy’s life will occur most likely on his Birthday later this year in August.
