Thelma Louise Washburn
1925-2021
After a long illness, (not covid), Louise, a very special sister, went to her heavenly home on September 6, 2021. She was born on December 10, 1925 in Madison, Georgia the daughter of Edward F. Morris and Irene Duke Morris. Louise married John Wesley Washburn on December 22, 1944. They resided in Birmingham, Alabama for many happy years where Louise was employed as an accountant by the Jefferson County School System. After retirement, she lovingly cared for her mother for an extended period of time. Louise moved to Hendersonville, North Carolina in 2004 enjoying her many friends and family.
Louise was predeceased by her husband, her parents, three sisters; Edra Morris, Agnes Simmons, Allene Crissman, as well as a dearly beloved nephew Leland Simmons and niece Cheryl Bennett. She is survived by brothers Charlie M. Morris (wife Gerry), Waymon L. Morris (wife Deirdre); nephews Craig Morris and Edward Morris; nieces Barbara Wienstein, Gayle Scott, Jennifer Morris, Melinda Nichols, Kim Torolski, and Mary Gage, together with many "grands" and "great-grands".
Louise's love of children was boundless. Throughout her life she showered love upon many children, spoiling most, truth be told.
As Louise wished, a graveside Memorial Service will be held at Madison City Cemetery on October 2, 2021 at l:30pm. Following the service a reception will be held at the Chophouse Grille, 202 South Main Street, Madison, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the charity of your choice shall be appreciated.
