Sylvia Patrick Pollard

Sylvia was born in Williamsburg, KY on May 2, 1931. She taught in Kentucky and New York State before leaving for Kenya by ship in 1961. After seven years as a single missionary, she married Mr. Herbert D. Pollard. They served together in Kenya for twenty-eight years and their three daughters were born there. After leaving Kenya, the Pollards retired to Madison, GA where they served at Source of Light Ministries. Sylvia served at Source of Light in the Madison Discipleship School for 28 years. She was a faithful member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church. She loved serving meals to friends and family. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden.

Sylvia is survived by her children Debra Ulrich & Lane, Andrea Briley & David and Gayle Pavone. She leaves grandchildren Lydia Walker & Kyle, Colin Ulrich & Becca, Elise Dryden & Ethan, Celia Ulrich, Matthew Briley & Allie, Ben Briley, Mia Pavone and great-grandchildren Rosie Ulrich and Davis Walker (yet to be born). She is survived by her sisters Sallie D’Haillecourt, Ruth Wood, Polly McGee, and Esther Patrick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Pollard and her grandson Jonathan Briley.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday, July 3rd at 10 AM at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, funeral service at 11 AM. Pastor Butch Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church or Neighborhood Gospel Mission Camp.
