Steven Fred Stovall

Steven F. Stovall, 72 of Rutledge, passed away on June 7, 2026. Steve was a native of Morgan County. He was the son of the late, Fred H. Stovall and Doris Harper Stovall. Steve was married to his wife Laverne and raised their children in Morgan County. Steve drove a tractor trailer for many years and only retired when his health forced it. After retirement, he enjoyed working on small engines, watching westerns and spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband and cared for his wife.

Steve Stovall is survived by his wife of 54 years, Laverne as well as his mother, Doris. He also leaves three children, Adam Stovall (Angel), Rodney Stovall and Laura Stovall Sanders (Lee). His grandchildren are Hannah, Grace, Lexi, Alyssa, Emmy, Allie, Pailynn and Addy. He also has a great grandchild, Cameron and Aubree is expected soon. Steve also leaves siblings, Ronnie Stovall (Sandra), Sandra Ward (Ray), Debra Harper and Ricky Stovall(Becky).

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from Noon until 2 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.
