Shirley (Norris) Morris

Shirley N. Morris passed away on the morning of October 16, 2018.  She was born in Madison County, Georgia on March 26, 1937 to Georgia Brown Norris and Ernest Eugene Norris.  She had five brothers, William Howard Norris, Dewey Brant Norris, Samuel Eugene Norris, Herschel Lee Norris, and Hugh Milton Norris, all of whom preceded her.  She leaves a husband of 63 years, Roy Franklin Morris, one son, Roy Morris, Jr., five grandchildren, Luke McCarron Morris, Skyla Drew Morris, Elsie Brynn Morris, Paulina Isabelle Morris, Jack Rhys Morris, and their mother, Bonnie Betancourt Morris.

She retired from the Morgan County School System after 27 years where she served at Morgan County Primary, Morgan County High School, and the board of education.  She was a member of the Madison Baptist Church, where she enjoyed the company of her many friends and her Sunday school class.

She will be buried at Madison City Cemetery.  Honorary pallbearers for the ceremony will be the Joy Sunday School Class of Madison Baptist Church.  The ceremony will be held at A.E. Carter Funeral Home on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2PM.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 5-7PM.
