Ronald Andrew Fowlie Sr. Obituary
Ronald Andrew Fowlie Sr. went home to Jesus on Friday, May 28, 2021 at age 78. Ron was born to James and Helen Fowlie on August 14, 1942, in Newark, New Jersey.
Ron graduated from Middletown Township High School in 1960, then joined the Air Force where he specialized in communications. After serving 5 years in the Air Force, he worked for Delta Air Lines. He met Mary (Molly) Hodges on a blind date when training in Atlanta GA. Ron and Molly were married on July 17th, 1966, at Decatur First Baptist Church in Decatur, GA. and had a son Ronald Andrew Fowlie, Jr. and daughter Heather McCall Fowlie Chamberlain.
Ron retired as a salesman from Maintenance Equipment Company, Tucker, GA in 2004. He enjoyed his Scottish Heritage, Bagpipe Bands, Georgia Football, Atlanta Braves, and spending time with his grandchildren watching them do what they love.
Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. He was dedicated to sharing his faith and showed it by serving as a Sunday School teacher, church youth beach retreat chef, Deacon, and inviting anyone he spoke with to church. In his final years, he was a member of LakePoint Community Church, Madison, GA.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents James and Helen Fowlie, brothers Gordon, Ian and William Fowlie. He is survived by his wife, Molly; his two children Drew (Beth) Fowlie and Heather (Justin) Chamberlain; and his 3 grandchildren McCall Chamberlain, Scott Chamberlain, and Jacob Fowlie.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 5, 1:00pm at LakePoint Community Church, Madison, GA. His service will follow at 2:00pm. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to LakePoint Community Church, Madison campus and Abbey Hospice, Social Circle, GA
