Rhett Fuller Goodman, Jr, 80 of Madison, passed away on February 4, 2026. Rhett was the son of the late Rhett Fuller Goodman, Sr and Kathleen Moore Goodman. He was born September 1, 1945 in Anderson, SC. Rhett grew up in Columbia. Rhett attended Carlisle Military School in Bamberg, SC. After graduation, he served in the United States Army. Rhett attained the rank of Sargent and served in Vietnam. After his service to the Country, he married Lynn Hood and moved to Madison, Ga. Rhett became active in many aspects of Morgan County life. For over twenty years, he worked as an insurance agent. He also joined his father-in-law’s business, G & H Septic Service, which he eventually took over. In his retirement, he drove a school bus for the Morgan County Board of Education. He thoroughly enjoyed driving the buses for the high school band, soccer, baseball and basketball teams. He rarely missed his children or grandchildren’s sporting events, even when they competed at the collegiate level. He was a member of Fusion Church. Rhett was a devoted family man and a constant encourager.
Rhett Goodman is survived by his wife Lynn and children, Rhett Anders, Lara Still & Trip, Matt Goodman & Teri and Anne Stamps & Crandall. His grandchildren are Jim Still, Becca Still, Brianna Sutton & Jayce, Fuller Goodman, Lily Goodman, Anslyn Ballstadt & Brady, Ethan Stamps & Jessie and Campbell Stamps. His great grandchildren are Brewer Sutton, Dax Ballstadt, and two more great grandbabies expected in July. He also leaves two siblings, Shellie Twork and Charles Goodman. Mr. Goodman was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Perry.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 9th at Fusion Church from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM. The funeral service will begin at 12:30. Interment will follow at the Madison City Cemetery.
