Michael “Mike” Booth Storey, 77, of Buckhead, Georgia, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by family on December 24, 2024.
Mike was born on March 20, 1947 to Albert Elmo and Frances Loyd Storey in Elkton, Tennessee. After graduating high school, Mike went on to join the U.S. Army where he served overseas in Vietnam.
After returning home, he married Shelby Jean Rodgers of Elkton, Tennessee.
Mike and Shelby went on to have one son, Michael Anthony Storey, and twin grandchildren, Alyssa Jade Storey and Lukas Alexander Storey. He and Shelby have resided in Putnam County for the last 34 years where he volunteered with the fire department for 15 years. During this time, he helped organize the Sugar Creek FD and built Station 11.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends, riding jet skis on the lake, and riding his motorcycle to new places. His family will remember his sense of humor and adventure.
Mike was preceded in death by his sisters Judy and Carol. He is survived by his wife, Shelby, his brother, Wilbur, his son, Anthony (Paula), and his grandchildren, Alyssa (Eddie) and Lukas (Kaylie).The family will receive friends on Friday, December 27 from 1-3 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at 3 PM in the chapel. Interment will take place later at the Elkton Cemetery in Elkton, TN.
