Marcella Ann (Meyer) Ledbetter passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 13, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. Marcella was born on April 6, 1949 in Fargo, ND. She graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in May 1967. On April 6, 1968 she married Arkley E. Ledbetter, Jr. They were blessed with two sons, Luke in 1974 and Mark in 1979. Marcella was a stay-at-home mom, where she homeschooled her sons. They finished in 1996. Later that year, she started working at Oxford Slacks. She did multiple jobs for the sample department. The she worked as a program associate at the Walton County Health Department. In 2007, she transferred to the Morgan County Health Department. She retired there in 2015. She enjoyed her years of retirement with her family and friends. She loved the Lord and served Him doing volunteer work in the church they attended.
Marcella Ledbetter was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and May Meyer, brother, Douglas, Sister, Alvina, her granddaughter, Libby and her husband, Arkley. She is survived by her sons, Luke and his wife, Janis and Mark and wife, Tammy as well as their two sons, Paul and Michael. A memorial to celebrate Marcella is planned for July 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of A.E. Carter Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Marcell asked that donations be made to St. Mary’s Hospice Care Center.
