Lynne Paule Claxton Neal

Beloved wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great grandmother was born in Kite, (Johnson County) Georgia.  She was daughter of Ernest Jackson Claxton and Bessie Wynn Harrison Claxton.  She graduated from Kite High School in 1938 and attended Georgia Southern College from 1938 until 1940.  She received a BS degree in education from the University of Georgia in 1962.  She later completed her Master’s Degree.  Lynne Paule married Harry K. Neal of Kite, GA on November 3, 1940.  They had two children, Lynda Harriette Neal Weston and Harry K. Neal, Jr.

Lynne Paule was employed by the Morgan County Board of Education and was a classroom teacher from 1957 until 1966.  She served as a guidance counselor at Morgan County Middle School until she retired in 1984.

Lynne Paule was preceded in death by her husband: Harry K. Neal, Sr, two siblings: Jack Claxton, Jr. and Betty Jo Claxton Bryan and son-in-law: Hamilton P. Weston, III.  She is survived by two children: Lynda Neal Weston (Hamilton), and Harry K. Neal, Jr (Gloria) as well as Jonathan Neal (Karen),Robert and Jackson Neal,  Zachary Neal(Katie), Maddie, Charlie and Drew Neal,  Lynne Bottoms (Benson), Bo and Mary Hamilton Bottoms, Laura Wilfong(Bobby), McNeal and Gracie Wilfong.

Mrs. Neal was a member of Madison Baptist Church, Daughters of American Revolution and Kappa Delta Pi.

The family would like to thank the staff of Talmage Terrace and Kindred Hospice. Mrs. Neal died peacefully, surrounded by her family.

The funeral service will be held at Madison Baptist Church on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 1:00 PM.  A private committal service will follow.

Memorials may be made to Madison Baptist Church, the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center or to the charity of your choice.
