Lynda Lou Jarvis The family of Lynda Jarvis announces her passing on the morning of Monday, April 21, 2025. Lynda died as a result of cardiac complications during an emergency surgery to correct an acute abdominal obstruction problem. She has had several years of recurring abdominal and heart-related issues that presented challenges for her to continue to be as involved in working within the community as she has over the previous 50+ years. After this recent acute event, Lynda joined her husband Lester (2019) and grandson Knox (2023) by her side to be with their Lord and Savior for eternity. Lynda was born on September 17th, 1944 in Prentiss, Mississippi, daughter of William Knox Parish and Helen Tolar Parish. She was raised in a nearby rural community (Clem, MS), where she met and married her life-long best friend, Lester Jarvis.
Lester and Lynda moved to Madison, Georgia in 1970 and have maintained membership and various positions of involvement at the Madison Baptist Church over the years. Lynda was very active throughout the years in various community-based organizations along with serving in health-oriented positions varying from Dental Hygienist, Physician’s Assistant & Office Manager (Miquel Cossio, MD) before discovering her true occupational love & skillset as a Realtor, joining Madison Realty. During this time, she also discovered a vision and talent in renovating several antebellum/colonial homes, which Madison offered an abundance of opportunities. One particular project of hers in Augusta, was documented and featured in Southern Living and was awarded the State of Georgia Historic Trust Award. Ultimately, Lynda’s career in the aforementioned real estate arena was cut short when she decided to retire and focus on caring for Lester, who suffered from Dementia and Lewy Body Parkinson Disease.
Lynda is survived by her sister Shelia McRaney (Vicksburg, MS), brother Billy Parish (Prentiss, MS), and two sons Michael Todd (Anne) Jarvis of Atlanta, Georgia and Gregory Jason (Annette) Jarvis of Columbia, Missouri. She leaves behind four grandchildren; Brelan Anne Jarvis, Bayne Lester Jarvis, Jackson Reece Jarvis, Payton Elizabeth Bealmear and several nieces and nephews.
Services are planned for Thursday, April 24 at 10:00AM (visitation) and 11:30AM (service) in the chapel of the A.E. Carter Funeral Home with Jim Ross officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorials are to be made to the Madison Baptist Church in Madison, GA.
