Linda Lou (Pressley) Shelton

Linda Lou Pressley Shelton, 78 of Madison, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023.  She was a native of Gainesville and was married to the late Charles DeWitt Shelton.  She was born November 28, 1944 to Howell Albert Grady Pressley and Marthie Belle Hix.  Mrs. Shelton enjoyed sewing and loved to fish.  She also loved music and hearing her children and grandchildren play and sing.

Mrs. Shelton was preceded by her husband, Charles DeWitt Shelton and a daughter, Mary Frances Guinn (Alvin).  She is survived by her children, Martha Kale Walker (Matthew), Melinda Faye Walden (Randall Allen), Charles David Shelton (Tabitha Gail) and Howell Joseph Shelton (Diane).  Mrs. Shelton leaves ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  Her surviving siblings are Melvin, Sybil, Virginia, Jackie, Sue and Rosie.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 17 from 1-3 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at 3 PM in the chapel.  Interment will follow at the Antioch Church Cemetery.
