Linda Redford Obituary

Linda Hibbard Redford passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 27, 2022 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 22, 1949 to Martha and George Hibbard, Linda grew up in West Monroe, LA.  She was the oldest of five siblings

An excellent student, she graduated Neville High School at age 16 and attended Northeast Louisiana State University and was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.

Linda enjoyed a long career with many diverse and interesting turns.  Her family and career moved her to Richmond, Virginia.

When her mother became ill in 2010, she relocated to Madison, Georgia. She joined her sister in the floral and gift business in 2011. Together they built a regional reputation for creative florals and gifts at Le Petit Jardin.  Linda’s reputation as an extraordinary floral designer was unmatched and she enjoyed taking part in life events of her clients including many weddings and special events.

In 2018, Linda joined her good friends Ron and Rhonda Erwin as manager of In High Cotton, a 20-year flagship store in downtown Madison. There, she built an extremely successful business and was admired by customers and staff alike. Customers loved visiting the beautiful store, where Linda welcomed them like family and they often returned to see her as much as the store.

Linda was also known for her love of fun, family and friends.  Her social calendar included weekly gatherings with many friends and she especially enjoyed her “Wine on Pine” Girls, her weekly Mahjong games, Book Club, Garden Club, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She supported many activities throughout the community.  She was always available for fellowship or to help a friend in need and she brought her “A-game” when it came to spunk, sass humor and creativity!  Finally, she had a tender heart for her fur friends and found great joy in her relationship with her rescue dogs.

Linda is survived by her two children, Marni Neumann Rice (Baylor) and Jeff Neumann; six grandchildren, Adam Rice, Carson Rice. Harrison Rice, Sophie Rice, Richard “Ebo” Rice, III and Henry Rice;  beloved sister Debbie Hibbard Accetturo; brothers Scott Hibbard (Sally) and Greg Hibbard (Deanna); and sister Kay Hibbard Conley; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews whom she adored; dear friend, Paulette Long;  and her beloved dog, Angel.  She is predeceased by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 2 at 11 am at the Church of the Advent, 338 Academy Street, Madison. A reception will follow at the Parish House.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda’s Memory to the Morgan County Human Society, 1170 Fairground Road, Madison, Georgia 30650.
