Lester G. Jarvis

Lester G. Jarvis Jr.  The family of Lester G. Jarvis Jr. announces his passing on Wednesday, December 11, 2019.  After more than a three-year challenge with Lewy Body Dementia and heart disease, Lester joined his father, mother and sister, Ella Katherine Merritt (2014) to be with his Lord and Savior with his wife Lynda and family by his side.  Lester was born on March 16th, 1942 to Lester Gulley Jarvis Sr. and Myrrha Moody Jarvis, in Louisville, Mississippi.  Lester was raised near Prentiss, Mississippi where he met his lifelong best friend and wife Lynda Lou (Parish) Jarvis.  He graduated from Mississippi State University as an Industrial Engineer and became a manufacturing executive where he retired with Wellington-Puritan Mills in the textile and leisure products industry. 

Lester and Lynda moved to Madison, Georgia in 1970 and are members of the Madison Baptist church.  Lester was very active through the years in various industry and manufacturing associations, the Lions Club, Madison Recreation Department and church.  Lester is survived by his wife Lynda, sister Mary Briggs (Madison, MS), and two sons Michael Todd (Anne) Jarvis of Atlanta, Georgia and Gregory Jason (Annette) Jarvis of Columbia, Missouri.  He leaves behind four grandchildren; Knox Barker Jarvis, Brelan Anne Jarvis, Bayne Lester Jarvis, Reece Jackson Jarvis and several nieces and nephews.

Services are planned for Saturday, December 14 at 11:30 in the chapel of the A.E. Carter Funeral Home with Jim Ross officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorials are to be made to the Madison Baptist Church in Madison, GA.
