Leslie Mullins Obituary

Leslie Wayne Mullins, 61, peacefully went on to be with God from his home on January 9, 2021. He was born June 22, 1959, to Patricia Martin Mullins and the late Lester Eugene Mullins. He is survived by his wife, Karen Nichols Mullins; sons, Nathan, Aaron and Seth; mother, Patricia Martin Mullins; sisters, Frances Garrison, Juanita Pendley, Melinda Spivey; brothers, Darrell Mullins and Jeff Mullins. He also enjoyed the love of many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Leslie was a devoted husband, father, provider and friend. He was a graduate of Morgan County High School and Athens Technical School. He retired as an embedded software engineer at Scientific Atlanta in Lawrenceville after serving for thirty years. Also, he worked as a lighting engineer for Acuity Brands of Conyers. Leslie was an active member and deacon of First Baptist Church Social Circle. In addition, he was a Past Master and Past Secretary of DeWald Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 343 of Rutledge. Leslie loved the Lord, spending time with his family, the outdoors and playing his trumpet. Many Morgan County High School band members may remember his support of the band by driving the bus for 40 years! In lieu of flowers, the family requests anyone desiring to make a donation in Leslie’s name to the Gideon’s International (gideons.org), the Masonic Children’s Home (masonichomeofgeorgia.com) or the charity of your choice. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11a.m at First Baptist Church Social Circle with Rev. Mike Hardy officiating. Interment followed at Sewell Baptist Church Cemetery. A.E. Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
