Kenneth Lee Harper
June 29, 1964 – August 14, 2023
Madison – Kenneth Lee Harper, 59 passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. He worked in sales, public works and a farmer.
Kenny was born in Madison at Morgan Memorial Hospital on June 29, 1964 to the Raymond and Lizzie Mae Hanson Harper. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ray Harper and James “Jamie” Harper.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Bagwell Harper; sons, Cody Harper (Emily) of Dorville, and Conner Harper; step-children, Justin Simmons (Jessie) of Nicholson; Tiffani Simmons Mazzella (Matthew) of Madison; Brian Simmons (Cassidy) of Colorado; also a bonus father to Bradley Branan of California; and Brittany Branan Allen (Anthony) of Covington whom have always held a special place in his heart; his precious grandchildren who called him Pee Paw - Jaryon, Scottlyn, Jovi, Sophia, Nora Rose, and soon to be, Evelyn. His siblings are sisters, Janice Cronic of Social Circle, Shirley Sidwell of Clermont, Vivian (Ralph) Walker of Canton, Kathy (Joseph) Pusateri of New York, and Patty (Randy) Brooks of Athens. He was blessed with several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends dear to his heart.
Kenny loved his family. He never met a stranger and was the life of the party. An avid story teller and constant practical joker, he delighted in making everyone laugh and smile. He always made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. His greatest passions were cooking, gardening and raising cattle. He loved to share a meal or cook for anyone that asked him to. He inherited the love of farming the same land that his grandfathers and parents did. He loved just sitting and watching his cows.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Center in Madison, GA. The family will have a private service at a later date.
