Kenneth Coleman Allman, Sr.

Kenneth Coleman Allman Sr. passed away March 10, 2023 under hospice care.  He was predeceased by his parents Flemon and Adella Friday Allman and a brother James Hugh Allman.  Ken graduated in 1966 from Livingston University (West Alabama University).  He accepted a position as a Public Health Associate with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in their Transmittable Prevention Program in 1966.  While working for CDC, he was assigned to the offices in West Palm Beach, Tallahassee, and Tampa, FL, and Kansas City, Missouri. He accepted a position with the Immunization Program in New York City, New York, Indianapolis, Indiana and to CDC Headquarters located in Atlanta, Georgia.  He retired from CDC in 1996.  He is survived by his wife, Lynda, two children April Day Allman and Kenneth C. (K.C.) Allman, Jr., and three grandchildren Kenneth C. (Cole) Allman, III, Emily Jewel Allman, and Elizabeth Burchfield.  He is also survived by his brother Myron Douglas Allman and sister-in-law Elaine Allman and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 15 at 11 AM at Madison Baptist Church.  The funeral service will be held at Noon.  Interment will be held at the Decatur Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation at t2t.org.
