Kathryn (Guy) Hensley

Kathryn G. Hensley died May 16, 2020 at The Gardens of Social Circle after an extended illness.  She was born in McDuffie County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late, A.W. Guy and the late, Annie Guy Criswell.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Hensley; daughter, Kim Lowe; and grandson, Chuck Lowe.

Mrs. Hensley graduated from Thomson High School and Southern Business University and attended Georgia State University in Atlanta.  She worked for Hickman and Company in Atlanta as a secretary and later as office manager.  She was then employed as a wedding planner for J.C. Penny until she retired to care for her mother and husband.

Mrs. Hensley was a member of Sewell United Methodist Church in Mansfield, GA.

Mrs. Hensley is survived by her sons, John Hensley (Sally) of Madison and Jeffrey Hensley (Jeannie) of Minnesota and grandchildren: Matthew Hensley (Hannah), Ian Hensley, Misty Tumlin (Tony), Tamara Davis (Matthew), and Jesse Lowe (Amanda).  She is also survived by cousins, Rebie Newsome (James) and Blanche Templeton (Leonard).

A private graveside service will be held on May 19, 2020 at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens in Snellville, GA.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Companion Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 1209 Madison, GA 30650 or to Samaritan’s Purse, Franklin Graham P.O. Bos 3000 Boone, NC 28807.
