Juanita Brown Stewart (9/16/1935 - 12/30/22)
Juanita Stewart of Madison, GA, passed away on Friday, December 30th, 2022. She was 87 years old. Juanita was born in Bishop, GA to Emory Lee Brown and Mary Idell Barber.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Stewart of Madison, sister Anne House of Commerce, brother Kenneth Brown of Nicholson, great-granddaughter Brittany Smith of Madison, daughter-in-law Judy Stewart of Madison, and son-in-law Robert (Bob) Williams of Watkinsville.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Stewart of Madison, Betty Jo Williams of Watkinsville & Baxley, Lamar Stewart of Madison, Becky Young (Leroy) of Madison, Glenda Stinchcomb (Lee) of Madison, and Terry Stewart of Madison. She is also survived by her sister Geraldine Mooney of Winder, GA.
Grandchildren are Amy Shelton (Joe) of Madison, Mary Smith (Robbie) of Madison, Christie Austin (Keith) of Covington, Joe Callaway (Casey) of Watkinsville, Cody Callaway (Brittany) of Summerville, SC, Jennifer Hilsman (Jason) of Madison, Courtney Pennington (Daniel) of Madison, Chad Stinchcomb of Madison, Courtney Stinchcomb of Madison, Randy Stinchcomb (Grace DoorenBos ) of Madison, Garrett Stinchcomb (Breana Bowen) of Madison, Gavin Stewart of Madison, Cade Williams (Kellie) of Gainesville and Tony Williams (Carrie) of Nicholson.
Great-grandchildren are Chase Thompson (Kristen), Nathan Smith, Karlie Shelton, Preston Shelton, Jillian Callaway, Dakota Callaway, Lyla Callaway, Waylon Callaway, Amelia Williams, Chris Hilman, Chance Hilsman (Karley Welch), Jacob Hilsman, William Pennington, Matthew Pennington, Nathaniel Pennington, Anna Williams, Brandon Williams, and Eli Williams.
She was loved by her many nieces and nephews and her church family. She loved her flowers and loved taking care of them and she always told us that “flowers are good for the soul”. She loved traveling, especially to the beach and mountains. She was always full of laughter, always wore a smile, spoke softly, and loved her Lord.
“Come Morning I’ll walk by the river.
I’ll rest ‘neath the ever green tree.
I’ll carry my cross through the midnight.
Come Morning there’s glory for me.”
Family and friends will be received at A.E. Carter Funeral Home in Madison on Monday, January 2nd, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Wayne Ghann and Clay Bumgarner officiating.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Joe Callaway, Cody Callaway, Chad Stinchcomb, Randy Stinchcomb, Garrett Stinchcomb, and Chase Thompson.
Interment will be at Farmington Cemetery, Farmington, GA
