Joyce Bearden

On Monday, November 18, 2019 Joyce Elaine Bearden of Atlanta, 75 years of age, passed away in an Atlanta hospital after a brief illness. Joyce was born in Pontiac, Michigan, daughter of George and Mary Low Bearden (both deceased). She lived in Morgan County until she went to college and then moved to Atlanta to live and work.

Joyce graduated with honors from Morgan County High School and worked at the First National Bank prior to college. Having earned a degree in economics, Joyce graduated from North Georgia College in 1966 and worked in the Atlanta business community until her retirement.

A member of Bethany Baptist Church, Joyce was a Georgia Bulldog fan, enjoyed puzzle construction and needlework as well as many social activities with her friends and family. She was a kind, generous and compassionate person and her quick smile and gentle spirit will be missed.

She will be lovingly remembered by sisters, Mary Eaton (Frank), Elizabeth Thurmond ( Guy) and brother Jim Bearden (Carrie) as well as several nephews and nieces, great nieces and nephews, extended family and many dear friends.

Visitation will be at 12 PM on Friday, November 22, 2019 with the funeral service to follow at 1 PM at the A.E. Carter Funeral Home Chapel, 1670 Atlanta Highway, Madison, GA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 1070 Bethany Church Road, Madison or Source of Light International, 1101 Mission Road, Madison, GA 30650.
