John Charles Maddox, Jr., 68 of Madison died on November 1, 2022. John was the son of John Charles and Carolyn McCay Maddox. He was born on July 2, 1954. He was a graduate of Morgan County High School and held a Bachelor's Degree. He married Sharon Mackey and they made their home in Morgan County. John worked on the family farm, operating the dairy until he started JCM Construction. John was a longtime member of Madison Baptist Church. He was active in the church, from his time as a youth until later years. John was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. While he operated his grading business, John always considered himself a farmer at heart.
John Maddox was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon. He is survived by his children, Jace Maddox (Jenni), Davis Maddox (Sallie) and Alaina Warbington (James). His grandchildren are Emmie, Elissa, Easton, Karoline, Aubree, Cole, JC, IV, JD, Mack, Maddox and expecting soon, Hadley. John also leaves two siblings, Kay Cox and Frank Maddox.
The family will receive friends at Madison Baptist Church on Thursday, November 3, from Noon until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM. Graveside services will follow at the Madison City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made Madison Baptist Church.
