Joe Claude Johnson

Joe Claude Johnson, 90 of Austell, died July 3, 2022.  He was bornin Swords, GA on October 4, 1931 to James Frederick Johnson and Miriam Doris Hill Johnson.  He was retired from Western Electric. 

Joe Johnson was married to the late Margie Shelnutt.  He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force.  He was an active outdoorsman.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being a member of The Rack Hunting Club.  He also loved water skiing and time spent on Lake Sinclair.  Mr. Johnson was a family man and will be remembered as a man that could do anything and was always willing to help others.

Joe Johnson is survived by his two daughters, Debbie Brown & Jeffery and Terri Willett & Chris.  He also leaves a sister, Doris Harris & Abie.  Grandchildren are Jennifer, Alisha, Michelle, Amanda, Christopher, Johnathan, Cara, Dustin, Abigail and Caitlyn.  Great grandchildren are Layla, Jax, Taylor, Riley, Brook, Peyton, Gabriel and Justice.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9 from 11am until Noon at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at Noon in the chapel.  Interment will follow at the Madison City Cemetery.
