Jean Long (Bearden) Grant

Jean Bearden Long Grant, 85, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025.  Jean was born February 11, 1940 at home in Buckhead, GA.  Her parents were the late, Charles Samuel and Ola Cobb Bearden.  She was a 1958 graduate of Morgan County High School.  Jean spent her career with the Bank of Madison.  She loved her family and time spent together.  She enjoyed cooking and spent many hours on genealogy.

Jean was first married to J.W. Long who preceded her in death.  She later married Carl Grant, Sr who also passed away.  She is survived by her daughter, Maria Shelby and a step-daughter, Linda Long.  Mrs. Grant also leaves two grandsons, Daniel Shelby (Aston) and Andrew Shelby (Sabrina).

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 6 from 6-8 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be on Sunday, December 7 at 2 PM in the chapel.  Interment will follow at the Madison City Cemetery.
