Otis Jay Turner October 3, 1978 – September 24, 2025
Otis Jay Turner, age 46, of Madison, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. He was a native of Morgan County, Jay was born on October 3, 1978, to George Lester Turner and Doris Guinn Jennings.
Jay was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Otis Oscar Turner, Gladys Josephine Owenby Turner, JD Guinn, and Mary Moon Guinn, as well as his sister Mary Josephine Hamilton.
He is survived by his children: Ethan Jay Turner, Destin and Shianne Lynn Horton, Claudio and Leslie Benedi, and Sarah Turner; his cherished grandchildren: Enzo Claudio Benedi, Olivia Mae Turner, and Paisley Denise Turner. Jay also leaves behind his parents George Turner, and Mike and Doris Jennings; his brother Daniel Turner; his sister Lynn Reid and her husband Melvin; his brother-in-law Jeff Hamilton; and his nephews and their families: Michael and Lindsey Hamilton, Tanner, Chassity, Alli, and Titus Hamilton, Chase, Chance, Quan, and Quentin Reid. Jay was deeply loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Jay was a born-again Christian who loved church and singing praises to the Lord. He had a passion for the outdoors—he loved hunting, fishing, and attending car shows. He had a love for sports and never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite teams: the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, and Georgia Bulldogs. Above all, Jay was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. His love for his family was unwavering and will be remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at A.E. Carter Funeral Home on Saturday, September 28, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral services will take place at the same location on Sunday, September 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
Jay’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. If he were here today he would say, “ Has anybody noticed, I get better lookin' every day?”
