Jane (Goss) Whitehead

Jane Goss Whitehead died on August 26, 2022.  She was born in Buckhead on April 12, 1936 to James Frederick Goss, Sr and Florine Thompson Goss. After graduation from Morgan County High School in 1954, she went to work for Southern Bell Telephone Company.  She worked 32 ½ years and retired in 1987. 

Mrs. Whitehead was preceded in death by husband, Ellison (Whitey) Whitehead, brothers;   Thomas Goss, J.F. Goss, Jr., Raymond Goss, Howard Goss and sisters; Emma Lee Bartron, Reba Anderson and Mary Ella Goss. 

Mrs Whitehead is survived by one son, Frankie Whitehead (Lynn) of Gray, GA, one grandson,  Trey Whitehead (Caitlyn) of Gray, GA and her great grandchildren are Ellie Cait and Emmy Whitehead.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and friends, including her special friend and caregiver, Judy Rodgers.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 28 from 2-3 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM at the Madison City Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Segars officiating.
