Jane Carter Bell, 83 of Madison, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on September 24, 2024. Mrs. Bell was born December 8, 1940 in Rutledge to Dodson and Lucille Malcom Carter. Mrs. Bell spent her adult life in Morgan and Walton Counties. She worked as a phlebotomist at Walton Regional Hospital. She was married to the late Knox Bell. Mrs. Bell was active in Walton County Christian Learning Center, where she served on the Board of Directors.
Mrs. Bell is survived by her children, Joel Eidson, III, Leslie Eidson Turner (Jim) and Shelley Eidson Kester (Scott). Her grandchildren are: John H. “Jack” Sorrells III (Elizabeth), David Scott Blackwood (Jessica), Jared Chastain Blackwood (Jade), Elizabeth Walker Bell, Rebekah Bell Guest (Dillon), Chelsea Smith Powell (Dusty), Branden Turner (Emily), Caroline Taylor Kester, Claire Victoria Kester, Meredith Anne Eidson, Joel Franklin “Drew” Eidson IV and nine great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Tommy Carter (Peggy).
The family of Jane Bell will receive friends on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1:30 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held in the chapel at 2:00PM.
