Jamie Lee Darby

Jamie Lee Darby, 83 of Social Circle passed away on October 22, 2024.  He was born July 31, 1941 to Homer and Lottie Peters Darby.  Mr. Darby was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  After his military service, he worked as a loom technician at Avondale Mills and Willshire Furniture Company.  He also was active in the VFW and owned J&L Grocery in Monroe.

Mr. Darby is survived by two stepdaughters, Jan Phelps & Chris and Kendra Dial.  He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Sonya Phelps.  He also leaves numerous grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 24 from 6-8 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at the Hawkins Family Cemetery in Social Circle on Friday, October 25 at 2 PM.
