James Donald Guinn, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him. He was welcomed into eternal rest by his beloved parents, JD and Mary Guinn, who preceded him in death, along with his siblings Alvin Guinn, Audrey Pope, Jerry Guinn, and Roger Guinn.

James was a man of strong character, steady faith, and unwavering dedication to his family. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Evelyn Guinn, who stood by his side through life’s many seasons. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.

He was a proud father to Michael Guinn and his wife Michelle, and Shawn Guinn and his wife Anntonette. James found great joy in watching his sons grow into men of integrity and commitment to their own families. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Tristan and Bishop Guinn, who brought him immense pride and happiness.

He is lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings, Doris Jennings, Horace Guinn, and Billy Guinn, along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives he touched.

James will be remembered for his hard work, his quiet strength, his sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family. Whether offering guidance, sharing stories, or simply being present, he made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing his love and example will continue to guide them for generations to come.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 23 at 1 PM in the chapel of A.E. Carter Funeral Home.
