James Argo, Jr. Obituary

Jimmy Argo was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.  He attended and graduated from Brown High School in Atlanta.  He was an active member of Capitol View United Methodist Church.

He married Anelle Riden on June 30, 1957.  Jimmy was a draftsman at Lockheed for 13 years.

After moving to Madison in 1973, he operated an antique store and refinished hundreds of pieces of furniture for Madison residents.  Upon retiring, he and Anelle traveled frequently and followed the many activities of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jimmy was a founding member of the Morgan County Rotary Club, and he was an active member for many years.  He was an extremely active member of the Prime Timers and Men’s Club at Madison First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Anelle, sons Mark, and Chris and wife Gay, grandchildren Steven Williams, Tommy Williams, and Regina Williams, great-grandchildren Lena Williams and Clark Williams-Cape.

There will be a private burial service on June 23. A memorial service will be held on June 23 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Madison First United Methodist Church.
