Jake Aaron Monk, 30, from Mansfield, sadly passed away on April 13, 2025. Born on August 3, 1994, in Conyers, Georgia, he was the cherished son of Samuel Monk and Marsha Faulk. Jake grew up in Morgan County and proudly graduated from Morgan County High School in 2012.
A truly proud American, Jake served his country with unwavering honor in the Army National Guard, with deployments to Afghanistan and Kuwait. His commitment to service did not stop with the military; he also dedicated his life to his community as a deputy with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
Jake was a devoted husband and a loving father, who took great joy in his work, spent quality time training, tinkering with cars, and cherishing moments with his family. He was also an astounding son, brother, uncle, cousin, grandson and friend.
He leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Taylor Ferguson Monk, and their dear children, Everlynn and Jackson Monk. He is also survived by his parents, Sammy Monk and Marsha Faulk; his siblings, Jennifer Monk, Jessica King, Adam Jones, and Andrea Brunson; as well as numerous extended family members. The loss of Jake is felt deeply by his brothers and sisters in the law enforcement and military communities as well.
