Henry Danny Wood

Henry Daniel Wood, 79 of Savannah died September 3, 2022.  Danny was born in Madison on April 15, 1943 to Henry and Estelle Hendrix Wood.  Danny served in the U.S. Army was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was retired from Georgia Farm Bureau where he worked as an agency manager.  Danny was married to Nancy Cragg on September 5, 1970.  They spent much of their married life in Dallas before moving to Savannah five years ago.  Danny was a member of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church.  He had also been a member of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and the Water Authority.  He also served on the Paulding County Farm Bureau Board and had served as a Trustee and Board member of Dallas First United Methodist Church.  Danny enjoyed reading and wood working.  He was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan but more loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Danny Wood is survived by his wife, Nancy Wood and children; Jaime Wood Russell (Gil), Lindsay Wood Sammons (Edward) and Jeffrey Taylor Wood.  Grandchildren are Jackson and Harrison Sammons, Addison and Daniel Russell and Zoey Wood.  Danny’s siblings are Juanita Pardue, Nora Goodman and Clara Smith.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 8 from Noon until 2 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2 PM.  Interment will follow at the Madison City Cemetery.
