Gordon Cartee, III

James Gordon Cartee III, 41, of Madison, Georgia passed away on June 3, 2023.  Gordon was born on January 13, 1982 to J. Gordon Cartee, Jr. and Tammie Manley Cartee in Augusta, Georgia.  Gordon graduated from Morgan County High School, Class of 2000, and then joined Masters Commission, a nine-month-long discipleship program.  After completion, Gordon attended Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, where he pursued a degree in International Studies.  He was fluent in Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish, and traveled throughout the United States, Brazil and Uruguay, making countless friends.

Gordon loved people.  He “never met a stranger,” and made new friends wherever he went.   He enjoyed music, movies, reading, playing trivia, singing karaoke, and spending time with his family and friends. 

Gordon was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, James Gordon Cartee, Sr. and Jane McCarley Cartee of Ivey, Georgia,  and his maternal grandparents, William Earl Manley and Sara A. Manley of Dublin, Georgia.  He is survived by his parents, Gordon and Tammie Cartee, and his brothers, Eric Cartee (Anna), Cameron Cartee (Brittany), and Evan Cartee (Yvette).  Uncle G will be greatly missed by his eight nieces and nephews, Amelia, Braylon, Tucker, Isabella, Preston, Liliana, Matteo, and Dallas. 

Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2023 at Carter Funeral Home in Madison, Georgia from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.   Services will be held at Grace Fellowship, Madison, Georgia, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Pinehill Church, Dublin Georgia at 3:00 p.m.
