Frederick Newton Sink, Jr, 78 of Buckhead, passed away July 26, 2021. Fred was born in Albany, GA on August 22, 1942. He was a member of Buckhead Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and financial advisor. He was also a member of the choir. He witnessed through song most of his life. He retired from Georgia Power Company in 1995. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and pen making. He mostly gave his art creations and pens to friends and family, although some were sold in local and nearby shops. He also loved to fish especially with his late grandson, Andy Braxley. He was a humble, peace-loving, giving man and was respected by everyone who knew him. He was full of empathy and concern for others, in spite of his own hardships. He loved God and his family with all of his heart. Last but not least, he had a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh and make others laugh.
Fred is survived by his wife, Lynda Sink. They were married for 59 years. He is also survived by two daughters and their husbands, Danette & Perry McDonald and Rhonda & Ron Braxley; grandchildren, Marshall, Melissa and Rebecca Braxley; two brothers, Chuck & Bertha Sink and Robby & Kak Sink.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 30 from 2-4 PM at Buckhead Baptist Church. The memorial service will be held at 4 PM.
