Earnest Heyward McCullum, 90 of Madison, passed away peacefully at his home on April 29, 2024. Mr. McCullum was born May 20, 1933 in Machen, GA to Heyward and Herma McCullum. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956 in the Korean conflict. Afterwards, he obtained an associate’s degree before beginning a career in welding. He worked for himself before working Phelp’s Welding in Madison and later Pennington Seed. Mr. McCullum was a member of Rutledge Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed turkey hunting.
Earnest McCullum is survived by his wife, Sara and children, Cindy, Debra, Larry, William, Robert, Daryl, Timothy, Priscilla, Tonya and Kirk. He also leaves numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 2PM at Rutledge Baptist Church.
