Dorothy Sells

Dorothy Sells, age 88 of Hiram, GA (previously Decatur, GA), passed away on October 26, 2024.  She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.  Born to the late Hoyt and Gwendolyn Dickson on April 12, 1936, she grew up in Rutledge.  She was a graduate of Morgan County High School.  She then attended the University of West Georgia earning an Associate Degree in business.  She worked for Southern Bell for a short time where she met her husband, Jerry Sells.  They were happily married for 47 years and had three daughters.  She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.  She had two grandsons whom she adored.  She loved her family completely and dedicated her whole life to them.

Dorothy Sells was an amazing cook.  She loved animals, bird watching and planting flowers.  She was a loving and generous soul who made friends with everyone she met.  She found the truth and hope in the gospel and continuously praised Jesus, even in the toughest of times.

Mrs. Sells was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry Sells and a daughter, Sheryl Sells.  She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Sells of Decatur and Lori Williams & Charles of Hiram.  She also leaves two grandsons, Bryce and Brandon Williams.

Mrs. Sells family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Centennial  Baptist Church in Rutledge from 11:30AM until 1:00PM.  The funeral service will be held at 1.  The interment will follow at the church cemetery.
