Dorothy Hawk Obituary

Dorothy (Dot) Harrison Hawk, 91, of Bogart died peacefully Monday, November 29, 2021. She was born on January 7, 1930, to J.L. Harrison, Sr and Agnes Parrish Harrison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Baldwin Hawk; by her parents; and by her granddaughter, Erin Suzanne Tarpley.

She is survived by two daughters: Amy Hawk Pritchett (Herschel) and Mimi Tarpley-Benkoski (Joe). She was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Amanda Pritchett Ramsey, Jennifer Benkoski Sangster (Tom), Joseph Benkoski (Kelley), Mary Benkoski Malcome (Sam), and Connie Benkoski Tucker (Jack). She had 8 great grandchildren: Erin Blair Ramsey, Meghan Sangster, Brantley Benkoski, Alex Malcome, Cate Malcome, Joey Malcome, Tyler Tucker, and Colton Tucker.

Dot will be remembered for her adventurous spirit and vivacious personality. She loved to dance with Larry. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping, crafting, and gifting the fruits of those activities to others. Dot loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was dedicated to service to others through a number of organizations. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Christian Church, 1130 Union Church Rd., Watkinsville, GA 30677 where she was a lifelong member.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
