Doris Evelia Durand
Doris “Nanny” Evelia Durand (Harwell) went to her heavenly home on January 27th, 2022 at age 85. She passed at her home in Godfrey, Georgia surrounded by family and friends.
Doris Evelia Durand was born to Dewitt and Quida Harwell in Morgan County on February 7th, 1936. At age 13, Doris’ mother Quida was laid to rest, and Dewitt remarried to Agnes Daniel. After graduating high school, she married the late James “JB” Bobby Durand Sr on June 4,1955. JB and Doris had three children, the late James “Jimmy” Bobby Durand Jr., Joyce Ann Schlipf (Durand), Janie Marie Armstrong (Durand).
In 1984 Doris graduated from Athens Technical College as a Nursing Assistant. Doris spent her days as a homemaker enjoying her life being close to family.
Doris has been reunited with her father, Dewitt Harwell; mother, Quida Harwell; step-mother, Agnes Louelle Harwell; husband, James “JB” Bobby Durand Sr.; son, James “JB” Bobby Durand Jr; brother, Ray Harwell; son-in-law, Scott Anthony Schlipf
Doris is survived by her brothers Charles Harwell (Eleanor), Vernon Harwell (Ann), James Harwell (Patsy) and sister Faye Harwell Cohen (Bernie), Sister-in-law; :Mary Lynn Harrell(Ray). Daughters; Joyce Schlipf and Janie Armstrong (Ben). Daughter-in-Law; Rhonda Durand(Jimmy). Grandchildren; Nicole Adams (Brett), Jacob Schlipf (Jessica), Angela Speer (Todd), CJ Armstrong, Sarah Armstrong, and Joshua Redman (Amber). Great-Grandchildren; Kaylie, Jason and Christopher Adams, James Speer, Zoey and Kyle Lingerfelt, also Bentley, Hudson, Hagen and Chesney Redman, along with many nieces and nephews.
