Darlene Faye Dennis of Greensboro, Georgia passed away on December 7, 2022, at the age of 76, of natural causes. Darlene was born in Lamesa, Texas on November 19, 1946. Darlene was the daughter of Claudie and Charlene Leifeste. She was the wife of Mike Dennis and has a daughter, Molly Haley with three grandchildren Sandy, Mason and Marin that live in Bend, Oregon. She was an Eastern Airlines flight attendant, worked for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Reynolds Plantation. She was crowned Miss Big Spring Texas and was In the Miss Texas Beauty Pageant of 1967.
She is survived by cousins John Gilbert, Lorie Shortes; nephews Haden Shortes, Sayde Shortes, Liz Hammond, and daughters Carol/Claire; brother-in-law Terry Dennis and wife Becky. She attended many churches over the years, and her favorite was Mount Paran Church of God in Atlanta Georgia. She loved to travel and visited most states and national parks. Her favorite vacation trip was to Alaska and her favorite place to visit was Apalachicola, Florida. Her life will be celebrated in Apalachicola Florida, in the near future.
We have a blessed assurance since Darlene had a love filed life with family/friends and was a blessing to all. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior. When our life ends on this earth…family, friends, and Jesus Christ is all that really matters.
