Dale Lance Hendrix, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Born on November 22, 1955, in Madison, Georgia, Dale dedicated his life to serving others and retired as a Sergeant from the City of Atlanta Police Department. His love of music, coupled with his talents as a singer and musician, brought joy to all who knew him. In 2017, Dale was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife of 22 beautiful years, Dora Marie Hendrix, sons: Heath Thomas Hendrix of Charleston, SC, and his children Wyatt and Aurelia; Anthony Brett Adams of Madison, GA, and his wife, Nicole, along with their children, Kaylie, Jason, and Christopher; and daughter, Alexandra Gabrielle Hulsey of Greensboro, GA, her husband, Kevin, and their son, Charlie. He is also survived by his sister Debra Anthony Spann of Buena Vista, GA and her husband Chris; and his brother Paul Christopher Anthony of Box Springs, GA.
Dale’s love for family extended to his cherished fur baby, Fiona Jayne Hendrix, and his beloved feline companion, Mr. Jinx, who brought him great comfort and happiness.
Dale was preceded in death by his loving parents, Calvin Thomas Hendrix and Faye Evelyn Hendrix (Jenkins). Their enduring love and guidance shaped Dale into the remarkable man he became.
The family invites friends and loved ones to honor Dale’s life at AE Carter Funeral Home in Madison, Georgia. A viewing will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by a funeral service at the same location. A graveside service will then be held at Brownwood Baptist Church in Madison, Georgia.
Dale’s kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed.
