Curtis Carver

Curtis Carver, 78 of Buckhead, went to be with Jesus on September 13, 2018.  Mr. Carver was born on February 20, 1940 in Coffee County.  He was the son of the late Ivy and Louise Merritt Carver.  He was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture where he worked as an inspector.  Mr. Carver was a devoted Husband, Father, Papa, and Christian.  He enjoyed working in his yard, fishing and hunting.  He loved everyone and had a way of always making others smile.

Curtis Carver is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Debbie O’Steen Carver as well as his children, Tina & Robert Lunsford, Stacey & Sophia Carver, Craig Carver, Amy & Ken Brown, Carolyn Wooten and Shannon & Waver Griffis.  He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Tillman & Clair Carver, Earl Carver, Kathleen & Marvin Key, JW & Myra Carver, Ashley & Sherry Carver and Linda & Irwin Brown.  Mr. Carver’s surviving grandchildren are Eric Crews, Lora Crews, Jason Lunsford, Anna & Okie McCart, Emily & Tim Jackson, Haley & Dillon Price, Joshua Carver, Hannah Carver, Caitlin Carver, Noah Carver, Dalton Brown, Garrett Brown, Jared & Somer Wooten, Blake Griffis, Elijah Griffis, Gracie Griffis, Kenleigh Griffis, Alyssa Gilbert and Landon Griffis.  Also surviving are several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Mr. Carver was preceded in death by his brothers, Alvin Carver and Kenny Carver as well as his grandchildren, Kipp Crews and Presley Griffis.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 15 from 6-8PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 16 at 3PM in the chapel.  Interment will follow at the Buckhead City Cemetery.
