Claude Eugene Peppers passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025 at his home in Toccoa, GA at the age of 81. He was born on October 3, 1944 in Madison, GA, the son of the late H.E. (Baby) Peppers and Grace Meadows Peppers. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Worley Peppers, a son, Darin Peppers (Amy) of Canton, GA and a daughter, DeeDee McIntyre (Shane) of Toccoa, GA. He also leaves six grandchildren: Cameron Peppers (Abigail), Carlee Peppers, Cory Byrd (Gina), Conner Byrd (Hunter), Austin McIntyre, and Lindsey McIntyre. Mr. Peppers also leaves three great-grandchildren, Hadley Peppers, Lily Peppers and Cayden Gomez. He is also survived by two sisters, Ruby Johnson of Good Hope, GA and Joette Doss of Maidson, GA.
Eugene served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 until 1966. He worked as a lineman for Georgia Power Company from 1966 until retirement in 2000. He then worked with his wife as owners of Wallpaper, Tile & Décor of Covington. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Covington.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 17 at 2 PM at the Madison City Cemetery with Dr. Larry Cheek officiating.
