Carl Allen Sims, Sr.

Mr. Carl Sims, 90 of Rutledge, died March 11, 2020.  He was born on May 21, 1929 in Maysville, GA to Henry and Julie Hooper Sims.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars and later retired from the Army.  He was married to the late Eunice Stewart Sims.  Mr. Sims was a devoted Christian and husband.  He was a committed soldier and proud veteran.  He enjoyed fishing and cooking and singing.  Many people were the beneficiaries of Mr. Sims kindness.

Carl Sims, Sr is survived by his children, Connie Rudd, Carl Sims, Jr., Larry Stewart, Judy Pepper and Cindy Butler.  Grandchildren are Allen Rudd, Darrell Crawford, Danny Crawford, Amber Walker, Cassidy Sims, Riley Sims, Amber Pepper, Christie Pepper, Nicki, Natalie, Bianca, Brandon and Nathan.  He also leaves three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15 from 2-3 PM.  The funeral service will be held at 3 PM in the chapel of A.E. Carter Funeral Home.
