Bonita Malcom Obituary

Bonita Raye Malcom, 72, died on May 21, 2020 after a long and courageously-fought battle with cancer.  She never stopped fighting. No matter how sick, she was always determined to spend time with her family, without any complaint of her illness. Her compassion permeated all around her as she lived a life of putting others before herself. Her jovial laugh will forever echo inside those who loved and knew her. Through our time with her, we gained faith, resilience and perseverance. We learned to be both strong and loving.

She was born January 4, 1948 in Bostwick, GA where she lived on a cotton farm. Her parents, Mr. Emerson Keith Malcom and Mrs. Jessie Ruth Waters Malcom preceded her in death.

She moved to Putnam County, GA In 1963 where she became a salon owner for over 30 years. Everyone who knew her loved her brilliant smile and kind personality.

Bonita retired after her first battle with cancer. She moved to Madison, GA to help care for her Daddy. After his death, she continued to call Madison home.

Bonita was an active member of Fusion Church Madison, GA., prior to her illness.  She loved serving and  participating in numerous women’s ministries. She loved the Lord and lived her life as a shining light for Him.

Bonita is survived by her 5 sisters and 1 brother: Brenda Malcom Walker, Beverly Malcom Sheridan, Barbara J. Malcom, Bonnie Malcom Farrell, Beth Malcom Woodruff and Greg A. Malcom. Bonita has 2 daughters: Eris Swanstrom from NC and Sami Stevens and 2 grandchildren: Sydnie Stevens and Vincent Stevens from Putnam County.

There will be a private service for family and close friends on June 8, 2020 @ 11:00 AM at Fusion Church of Madison.

Flowers are welcome; however, donations for Future Fusion Church at 2011 Athens Highway, Madison GA 30650 would be much appreciated.
