Bobby Joe Hawk, 84, of Madison, Ga. passed away on the evening of January 7, 2024. He was born February 7, 1939 to Robert Lee and Eva Clair Hawk. After graduating from Morgan County High School, Bobby worked as an officer for the City of Madison Police Department. In 1959, he started work for the Georgia State Patrol as a radio operator assigned to Headquarters Communications in Atlanta, Ga. He was promoted to Trooper on July 24, 1960 and worked his way up to Sergeant before retiring in December of 1991. After retirement, Bobby enjoyed operating his horse farm, Hawk Stables, and building his brand into producing some of the finest Quarter Horses.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years - Martha Hawk, his parents, brother - Donald Hawk, sister - Linda Johnson, grandson - Conner Hawk, and son - Noel Hawk.
He is survived by his son, Neal Hawk and wife Heather, grandchildren - Victoria Hawk, Zachary Hawk, Mitchell Hawk and wife Andy Kate, Allison Carter and husband Mason, and five great-grandchildren - Keigan, Preslee, Colton, Paisley, and Warren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at A.E. Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Segars officiating. Interment will follow at Rutledge Cemetery.
