Mr. James Robert Reed passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022. Bob, born in West Virginia in May 1963, was the son of Donald and Charlotte Reed. Bob was a hardworking man who retired as a Pilot Boat Captain at Imperial Towing in Imperial, PA. He enjoyed many years pushing barges up and down the beautiful inland waterways of the Eastern US.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia, daughter Christina, and her partner Vinnie. Bob was "Pop" to his beautiful grandchildren, Abigail, Stephen, and CC. He is also survived by other family including his mom, sister's and brother's in law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends from West Virginia, Georgia, and elsewhere.
Bob and Cynthia moved to Madison in 2011 to be near her sister's family. A faithful man, he enjoyed fellowship at the Madison First United Methodist Church with the Men's and Emmaus groups. Bob was a dedicated volunteer for JH Ministries for many years. He was also a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
A Celebration of Life is planned for January 20, 2023, in the Wesley Building of Madison First United Methodist Church at 10:30am, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the JH Ministries or the Neighborhood Missions Team to Madison First United Methodist Church PO Box 350, Madison, GA 30650.
